On July 29th, 2016, South Island Garment Sdn. Bhd. (SIG) concluded their 6-week Kaizen event with Neville-Clarke (M) Sdn Bhd, Penang. SIG is the leading sportswear manufacturer in Malaysia. The closing ceremony agenda includes presentation from four respective team leaders, addressed by Neville Clarke’ Consultant, Ms Jessy Lai, SIG General Manager, Mr Lim Eng Chuan, Group General Manager, Mr Tang Beng Hong, and a summary of achievements by SIG Lean Leader, Mr Tan Swee Ban.

Mr Tan Swee Ban presented the following results:

For SIG, improvement is not difficult, sustainability is. Thus, this Kaizen model stretched through a duration of 6 weeks to provide each project team sufficient time to understand the problems, design solutions, pilot-run the solutions, calibrate and standardize the solutions for the long run. Therefore, the results that Mr Tan Swee Ban presented are not estimates, they are actual results achieved from implementations.

In their closing speeches, SIG Senior Management made the commitment to create a continuous improvement culture. And Neville Clarke is honoured to be engaged as the consultant to be involved in the SIG’s Lean journey.
