Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is a structured methodology for the design and development of a new or modified product from concept to mass production stage.  It focuses on the utilization of various techniques to identify and resolve problems before a product goes into full production. Control Plan is a structured approach for the application of controls designed to minimize process and product variation. Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is a structured approach to ensure that customer requirements are understood and the manufacturing processes have the potential to produce parts that meet the customer’s requirements during actual production.

The course is aligned to the latest version of AIAG’s PPAP (4th Edition) and APQP (2nd edition) manuals respectively.  The PPAP 4th Edition is effective June 1, 2006 while the APQP 2nd edition is effective November 1, 2008.

  • To provide an understanding of APQP, control plans, and PPAP

  • To identify potential gaps in the current system and what may need to be addressed
